Pierre Génisson hos chosen of the most beautiful works in the repertoire for clarinet and piano. There are commissions from the Paris Conservatory (Debussy, Françaix); others are part of a project of sonatas for wind instruments (Saint-Saëns, Poulenc), composed shortly before the death of the composers (this is also the case of the Mozart Clarinet Concerto!).
The clarinet has often been the instrument of a composer’s twilight… Chausson’s work is the least known, it was rediscovered in 1977.
